Mature-age Adelaide Crows forward James Rowe will make his AFL debut in Saturday's clash against Geelong along with young midfielder Sam Berry.

The Crows on Thursday afternoon confirmed that the 21-year old would line-up against the Cats this weekend whilst confirming star onballer Matt Crouch will miss the clash due to groin soreness.

Rowe will be a popular rookie priced option among AFL Fantasy ($196,000) and SuperCoach ($117,300) coaches this season.

Having been overlooked in three consecutive drafts, Rowe was picked up by the Crows with Pick 38 in the 2020 AFL Draft.

Crows coach Matthew Nicks announced the news to the Crows playing group on Thursday, which was met with excitement.

Berry has shown promising glimpses since arriving at West Lakes, with Nicks giving him plenty of wraps ahead of his first senior game.

“Sam Berry will play on the weekend, we’ve just let him know and called his parents," Nicks said.

“It’s a really exciting time to see a young kid get his chance with his enthusiasm.

“He’s trained really well, he fits into our culture, he’s a really likeable young lad and he goes hard at the footy.

“He showed enough (last weekend) that we want to see some more from him, we think this will be a really good launch pad for him”
