Adelaide coach Don Pyke has confirmed forward Tom Lynch will miss this week's clash with Carlton due to illness.

Lynch failed to train on Wednesday after coming down with a viral infection.

“Unfortunately, Lynchy has picked up a viral infection. We’re running some tests to work out what that is, but the indication from the doctor is that he’s not going to be available this week,” Pyke said.

“We’ll see how the results come up and take it from there.”

Meanwhile, Charlie Cameron (wrist) and Luke Brown (ankle) also remain in doubt.

“Charlie was unable to train this morning with that wrist injury,” Pyke added.

“We’ll assess how that looks … and if he’s not right he won’t play.

“Luke did some running today. He’ll do a bit more training tomorrow, but there were some really positive signs.

“He’s pretty confident, so we’ll give him a chance tomorrow to have a run and make the decision from there.”

Adelaide travel to Melbourne to face Carlton at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.
