Collingwood's Nathan Kreuger has been placed on the inactive list for the remainder of season 2022.

Kreuger had shoulder surgery following an injury sustained during Collingwood's ANZAC Day win against Essendon.

The 22-year-old has only managed three games at the Pies so far, five total with his time at Geelong.

Despite having become somewhat of a cult-figure, the South Australian hasn't been able to have a good run at it across his two seasons in the competition.

The Magpies currently hold one selection in the Mid-Season Draft, set to take place on Wednesday 1 June. Though, it is believed the Pies will have another pick after today's immediate retirement of veteran defender Jordan Roughead.

Having lost two tall options at either end of the field, a player of that nature is surely on the agenda for the Pies.

Those at the AIA Centre are already believed to have eyes on North Adelaide swingman Jacob Bauer.

Bauer could feature at either end of the ground for Collingwood and would fit right in at the youthful Pies. While other mid-season options include Peel Thunder forward Wade Derksen and former Lion Connor Ballenden.
