Collingwood's Ash Brazill will play for a gold medal with the Australian Diamonds at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, set to face Jamaica in the final.

The dual athlete has played AFLW for the Pies for five years, playing 16 matches, while also representing the club in Super Netball across three seasons.

Brazill hasn't featured for the Pies so far this year after pulling out of the season in February, instead focusing on netball and the upcoming Commonwealth Games campaign, after managing just four games in 2021 on her way back from an ACL injury suffered in 2020.

The reliable Pie served as Collingwood's vice captain from 2019 to 2020, with her breakout 2019 season seeing her earn an All Australian spot and runner up in the club's best and fairest award.

Despite stepping away from the club to represent the Diamonds, the 32-year-old remains contracted for the upcoming season. Brazill has remained at the club in a support role despite her absence on the field.

With much of her career spent choosing between her two sports, exemplified by her 2022 campaign, the elusive gold medal is looming as just reward for the black and white leader.

Since netball became an official part of the Commonwealth Games program in 1998, Australia has made the final in each iteration of the Games.

The gold medal match is slated to begin on Monday morning, Australian time, at 5:30am AEST.
