Collingwood coach Craig McRae has said the club will have to wait for scans to see whether veteran Scott Pendlebury will be available for the Wildcard Round fixture.
Pendlebury exited Friday night's game early with a knee injury concern and, at 38 years of age, remains in serious doubt to be fit to play next weekend.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, McRae said it would be a risk to play the 442-game legend, but the club will wait until later in the week after scans to make a decision.
"My understanding is (Pendlebury) has had some precautionary action around his tightness in the back of his knee, which might be hamstring-related. But it's on the minor side, and if there is something there, the scan will show that," McRae said.
"Anyone that goes off and only plays 20 per cent of game time in the last round, there's something there, but we won't know until there's a scan.
"He might be right to go, but do we want to take that risk? That will be the question our medical team and high-performance team will have to ponder all week, and you can't make decisions till we get a scan.
"It might be as simple as the scan will reveal something, and then he won't play."
The game was a fairly meaningless fixture for the Magpies, and McRae thinks his group could feel it. Collingwood's senior coach added it was a "challenging game" to get up and about and that his coaching staff wouldn't review the performance.
Halfback flanker Dan Houston injured his finger in the 63-point loss to the Lions; however, McRae said the 29-year-old should recover in time for next week's final.

The likes of Isaac Quaynor, Patrick Lipinski, and Brayden Maynard will have to wait until later in the week to secure their return to the senior side following a spate of injuries, according to McRae.
"We were conservative going into the game with Patty Lipinski and Quaynor and then Bruzzy as well," he said. "Those three probably would have played if this was our last shot at things.
"They will need to get through training, but that's our thought process at the moment. I sat here last week thinking the same.
"It was just a couple things we didn't quite tick off with confidence. Maybe we might be a bit more aggressive if there is a couple that are line ball, but again, we will weigh up whether they are line ball."
