Brisbane has hit full throttle on the eve of finals, and the two-time reigning premiers are only going to get stronger with star Hugh McCluggage set to return.

After dismantling Collingwood at the MCG by 63 points, Lions coach Chris Fagan spoke in the post-game press conference and was confident that McCLuggage would return for the club's first final after battling calf problems all season.

"I do think (McCluggage will return) now," Fagan said.

"Particularly because we have got the week off. He started to run, do some serious running this week, and over the next two weeks, he will build up into football work, and he will be available for that first final."

Brisbane's domination of Collingwood was headlined by a 25-goal team performance and an eight-goal haul from the club's young star key forward Logan Morris.

The 21-year-old has now kicked 140 goals from 67 games and sits second in the Coleman Medal on 63 goals for the season, only behind Sydney's Charlie Curnow on 66.

Brisbane's key forward combination of Morris, Oscar Allen (four goals) and Eric Hipwood (3.2) was on fire against a usually strong Collingwood defence.

Fagan said he was buoyed by the trio's performance, and he remains confident they could replicate it in the finals.

"It was a special performance by (Morris)," he said.

"I actually liked all of our talls tonight, they all got involved and looked dangerous. I think the presence of Oscar Allen and Eric Hipwood helps Logan, because when they don't play, he gets a lot of attention.

"I'll give those two guys a pat on the back, but that was an exceptional performance by Logan. He is a terrific young footballer and a good person. His ability to read the ball in the air and turn up in the right place at the right time to kick a goal is quite amazing.

"I have been pretty happy with them the last few weeks, to be honest, but that nailed it tonight, I think.

"It's something we haven't had all year, just fortunate it has turned up on our doorstep now."
