All 18 club presidents have voted in favour of endorsing Tasmania's entry into the league as a 19th team, with an official announcement now expected in the coming days.
With approval from all clubs, a decision that reportedly took just 15 minutes, the AFL commission will now meet on Tuesday evening to make a call on granting a new license, with a decision potentially announced on Wednesday.
A decision from the federal government last week to approve more than $200 million in funding for a new stadium in Hobart was the last hurdle the new potential team needed to clear before club presidents were able to vote, with the Apple Isle now seemingly about to be granted a license more than a decade after their last bid.

The new club is expected to enter the competition in 2027, playing games at both Hobart's Bellerive Oval and Launceston's York Park, with their new Macquarie Point venue also in the works.
Tasmania first launched a bid to enter the national competition back in 1994.
Great news! 2 memberships per year now, Pies and Tassie Devils.
I will finally get to see a team play every fortnight that I actually like.
Will be interesting when we play the Pies, might have to create a jumper, half and half. My heart will still be with the Pies but will always support Tassie. Can’t wait!
