Channel Seven have secured the rights to the E.J Whitten Legends game.

The Age has reported that the board for the E.J Whitten Foundation met in Melbourne this week and decided to accept a lucrative offer from the Seven network for rights to broadcast the match for the next five years.

The news comes as a further blow to Channel Nine, with The Footy Show facing an uncertain future due to the falling out between co-host Garry Lyon and regular panel member Billy Brownless.

The match will take place on Friday, September 2nd, during the week break between the final round of the regular season and first week of finals.
