Although his side claimed the four-points on Friday night following Gary Rohan's clutch  goal after the siren, Geelong captain Joel Selwood has been hit with two fines after his involvement in a pair ugly incidents.

After much deliberation, the Match Review Officer charged the veteran midfielder with a $1,000 fine for misconduct on Bulldogs defender Bailey Dale.

Selwood also received a $2,000 sanction for rough conduct on Dogs backman Taylor Duryea.

The separate events involving Dale and Duryea came under great scrutiny shortly after the Cats' memorable win.

Selwood has long been seen as a courageous and hard-nosed player across his 323-game career at Kardinia Park, however, some fans were less than impressed with these aforementioned displays, with many believing that Selwood crossed a line.

Still, with credits in the bank, and his class on display following an incredible effort to kickstart the chain that led to Rohan's game winner, the superstar still had his fair share of admirers.

Selwood will be free to face fellow premiership contenders Brisbane at the Gabba in Round 15.
