Delisted North Melbourne half-backman Aaron Mullett is set to join Carlton.

The 25-year-old rebounding defender is set to sign for the Blues as a delisted free agent, according to AFL.com.au.

Mullett spent seven years at North Melbourne, playing a total of 85 games across his career, including 18 in 2017, after being selected at pick 34 in the 2011 rookie draft.

The left-footer had an effective year for the Kangaroos, averaging a career-best 20 touches per game and leading North Melbourne in rebound 50s with 101 across his 18 games.

Mullett is a damaging player with ball in hand, taking the game on with flair, pace and a powerful left boot.

Former teammate Lindsay Thomas is being considered by Port Adelaide, and is expected to move to the Power in the upcoming rookie draft.

Despite having a year to run on his contract, Thomas and the Roos are expected to mutually terminate the final year of his deal, to allow Thomas to make the move to South Australia.
