Carlton has rewarded midfielder George Hewett with a new two-year deal, extending his time at IKON Park until the end of 2027.
Hewett is producing a career-best season and has become a standout performer for the Blues, averaging 27.8 disposals as well as 6.7 clearances and nearly six tackles per game.
The former Swan has generally been tasked with curbing the influences of the opposition's best onballers, which is where his game has gone to another level in 2025.
Not only has Hewett limited names such as Nick Daicos and Luke Davies-Uniacke, he's punished them going the other way, becoming one of the competition's best two-way runners.

Carlton's Head of List Management Nick Austin said the club is "excited" by the recommitment from the 29-year-old, which is deserved after the season he is having.
"George has arguably been in the best form of his career this year, and we are so excited to see him commit to the Blues for another two years," Austin said.
ย "He is a very consistent and reliable footballer who has the flexibility to play any role that is asked of him to a high level.
ย "An outstanding team player, George is regularly praised not only for his commitment to his craft but also to mentoring those around him: he is the definition of leading by example.
ย "We are so excited to see what he will be able to produce in the Navy Blue over the next two years."
Hewett exercised his free agency rights after 120 games for Sydney across eight seasons, joining the Blues ahead of the 2022 campaign.
Since donning the navy blue, the North Adelaide product has been a key contributor in the club's midfield.
Hewett sits on 190 games, and will most likely bring up his 200th before season's end.
Carlton returns from its mid-season bye to take on Essendon in the King's Birthday eve clash at the MCG on Sunday.
