Carlton have de-listed father-son twins Ben and Lucas Camporeale, two seasons after picking the duo up in the 2024 National Draft.

Ben, drafted with Pick 43, and Lucas, with Pick 54, followed in the footsteps of famous father Scott in joining the Navy Blues.

Lucas made three senior appearances for the club in his debut season, while Ben is yet to achieve the feat.

The club is interested in allowing the brothers to train with the tram over the summer, as potential SSP acquisitions.

Chris Davies, Carlton's footy boss, alluded to "list flexibility" as one of the key drivers behind the decision when announcing the cuts.

“It is never easy to make these decisions as a club, but ultimately we need to ensure we have maximum flexibility in regard to our list spots ahead of the upcoming trade and draft period,” Davies said.
“Ben and Lucas have shown great commitment over the last two years, and although we are not able to commit to them for 2027, we have informed them both that they will be considered for potential train-on opportunities once we have completed the November draft.”

The changes follow on from the seven cuts recently made by the suddenly in-contention Blues, who overcame a 1-8 start to 2026, to eventually feature in an elimination final. The Blues, buoyed by the winds of change that Josh Fraser brought with him, loom as major players in the trade and draft space on the back of this miraculous turnaround.
