Collingwood's Nick Daicos has held onto pole position in our 2023 AFL MVP race despite failing to poll a voter during Round 7.

The top of our leaderboard hasn't shifted too dramatically after the weekend, however we now have a pair of Demons occupying spots among the top five.

Six payers polled perfect games across the weekend, while nine captains all polled votes in Round 7.

Reminder: votes are given out in a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 system for each game, meaning the maximum score any player can record in any game is 20.

St Kilda vs Port Adelaide

Jason Horne-Francis was exceptional for the Power as they came and conquered the Saints on Friday night, with their young recruit leading the way from the middle with his clearance dominance.

Pairing with Travis Boak in midfield, Horne-Francis was the difference maker in the victory, while Sam Powell-Pepper and Zak Butters also played key roles through the centre of the field.

Forward pair Jeremy Finlayson and Charlie Dixon were also pivotal in the win, while Saints duo Jack Sinclair and Rowan Marshall did their best to keep their side in the contest.

Brisbane vs Fremantle

Lachie Neale was at his brilliant best on Saturday to collect 24 contested possessions from his 35 disposals against Fremantle.

Neale also managed 13 clearances in a dominant performance over the Dockers' own star-studded midfield pack, who couldn't contain Brisbane's best ball winners.

Rookie Will Ashcroft was also a standout for the Lions to boot two goals and have 28 touches, while Harris Andrews, Dayne Zorko and Zac Bailey were also fundamental in the win.

Partner-in-crime Clayton Oliver managed to poll 13 votes, while Kysaiah Pickett was also among the Dees' best on Saturday night.

The Blues crushed West Coast on their home deck to the tune of 108 points, with Charlie Curnow booting nine majors in the win.

That haul sees him tied atop the Coleman Medal race, with plenty of thanks to be directed to his midfield birgade for their clearance work.

Led by captain Patrick Cripps, Carlton's engine room was humming as Adam Cerra, Blake Acres and Sam Walsh impressed, while Nic Newman was instrumental at half-back.

Essendon vs Geelong

Tom Hawkins has bounced back into form after a slow opening few rounds, with his career-best bag of eight goals against the Bombers a difference from the opening bounce.

Captain Patrick Dangerfield was the only player to rival Hawkins for best-afield honours, with the explosive midfielder collecting 28 possessions (14 contested), 10 clearances and 15 inside 50s for the match.

Defender Tom Stewart was at his reliable best coming out of the backline, while Jake Stringer managed to boot four goals in a tough day for Essendon.

The inside onballer was a workhorse for Stuart Dew, while Wil Powell was exceptional behind the ball alongside Charlie Ballard.

Tim Taranto was a standout for the Tigers but couldn't drag his side over the line.

Adelaide vs Collingwood

Collignwood claimed another thrilling win over the weekend, this time snatching victory from the Crows' claws at Adelaide Oval.

A Steele Sidebottom behind was all that separated the twp sides by the final siren, with the Magpies having held a lead for just 21 seconds for the entire game.

Captain Darcy Moore was dominant in the backline for Collingwood, while Josh Daicos and Tom Mitchell did damage further up the field.

Jordan Dawson was again playing his best football, but couldn't quite steer his side to another win.
