Greater Western Sydney midfielder Stephen Coniglio has signed a two-year contract extension.

Coniglio, who was already contracted for 2017, will now remain with the club until at least the end of the 2019 season.

“Having been at the GIANTS since the start and seeing where we are headed, I had no hesitation in re-signing,” Coniglio said.

“I enjoy living in Sydney and playing football with a committed and hard working group of footballers who are also some of my closest friends.

“Together we’ve worked hard and battled through some tough times over the past five years and I want to be part of the success that is hopefully ahead of us.”

He has played 84 games with the Giants since being selected with pick No.2 in the 2011 National Draft, but he has enjoyed a breakout season in 2016, averaging 28 disposals, 3.1 marks and 5.7 tackles per game.
