Carlton coach Michael Voss, forward Jack Martin and two members of the Blues' football department will miss the club's Round 2 match with the Western Bulldogs next Thursday after entering health and safety protocols.

Voss, who coached Carlton to their first Round 1 win since 2012 this week, is understood to have tested positive to COVID-19 and will be among the Carlton personnel out of action for the next seven days.

"THE CLUB can confirm that AFL Senior Coach Michael Voss, two members of its football department and senior player Jack Martin have been placed under the AFL’s Health and Safety Protocols from today," a club statement reads.

Blues football boss Brad Lloyd revealed the quartet are feeling well, with the club set to give necessary support across the next week.

“Importantly, Michael, Jack and our staff are feeling well, which is the number one priority here obviously and they will now isolate for the required periods of time. All had tested negative prior to interacting with the football program, however by today all four had returned a positive result,” Lloyd said.

“The impact of COVID-19 is still clearly a reality that we remain mindful of, so we will make the necessary adjustments, adapt and remain focused on our goal for the next week – which is preparing for a strong performance next Thursday night.”

Assistant coach Ash Hansen will take on the senior coaching duties for Thursday's match, coming up against his former club.
