Former St Kilda, Sydney and Western Bulldogs forward Barry Hall has joined the Gold Coast Suns as a specialist coach.

The 2005 premiership captain will coach the club's key position players in a part-time capacity in 2017.

“I’m looking forward to working with what I regard as one of the most exciting spines in the AFL,” Hall said.

“Through my broadcasting commitments with Fox Footy I have covered many of the team’s games and what stands out is the depth and quality of the key position players at the SUNS," Hall said.

"Throughout the year I often spoke with Rocket about the guys and I'm looking forward to getting involved and helping them throughout the year."

Hall kicked 746 goals in his 289-game career.
