Suspended Essendon player Heath Hocking has re-signed with the Bombers for 2017, ensuring he will return to the club after his ban is served.
โI grew up supporting this great Club and Iโm an Essendon person through and through, and nothing could sway my passion for the football Club,โ Hocking said.
โI have a strong belief in the direction of the Club, and I have no doubt once we move past the challenges of this season we will be well placed to achieve success.
โI hope the other boys feel the same way. It would be great to see them return to the Club so we can continue on this journey we started together.โ
Hocking's current contract was due to expire at the end of 2016. Five of the current banned Bombers (Tayte Pears, Ben Howlett, David Myers, Tayte Pears and Cale Hooker) remain uncontracted for 2017.
While Jobe Watson, Dyson Heppell, Tom Bellchambers, Michael Hurley, Michael Hibberd and Travis Colyer are all contracted until at least the end of 2017, Hocking is the only player to so far publicly commit to the club for 2017.
