The AFLW will charge for ticket admission to games in its nine-round 2021 season.
The league confirmed on Thursday that it would scrap the conference system, introduce a single ladder and charge $10 for entry to matches.
There will still be free entry for children, although tickets will be required to help with contact tracing.
The AFLW will proceed without hubs in the new season, which is set to kick off a week earlier than usual on Thursday, January 28.
The grand final is set to be held on the second weekend of April.
Collingwood co-captain Steph Chiocci is confident that fans will be willing to pay to enter the gates.
"I believe it's a fantastic step forward towards having a sustainable and equitable future," Chiocci told The Age on Thursday.
"I think you'll find our supporters are as loyal [as] anyone and are just as invested in playing their part in growing the game, as we are in playing, so yes, I believe they will pay."
A significant milestone for our competition ๐
