1. GWS (-)

Ladder position: 1st

The Giants finish round 11 on top of the AFL ladder for the first time in their history, and it's a spot they thoroughly deserve to be in. Josh Kelly, Dylan Shiel and Zac Williams led the way for GWS, who could head into the bye at 10-2 after a win over the Blues this weekend.

2. Adelaide (-)

Ladder position: 2nd

The Crows travelled to Simonds Stadium ready for a top of the table clash, but they played like a side who weren't one of the favourites for the premiership. Adelaide trailed by as many as 47 points during the third term, and were never really in the contest.

3. Geelong (+1)

Ladder position: 3rd

Geelong had three massive games at Simonds Stadium over the past three weeks (Bulldogs, Power, Crows), and after winning all three, they've showed they can match it with the best sides.

4. Port Adelaide (+1)

Ladder position: 5th

The margin almost didn't do the result justice, as Port Adelaide smashed the Hawks, keeping them to their lowest ever first-half score. Charlie Dixon bounced back after 'shot-clock gate' the week prior, and put in a best on ground performance against Hawthorn.

5. Western Bulldogs (-2)

Ladder position: 6th

The Bulldogs enjoyed the bye last weekend, but still had to drop two spots because of impressive Geelong and Port Adelaide wins.

6. Richmond (+1)

Ladder position: 4th

This was a big win for the Tigers. While they didn't beat a side with premiership credentials, they did defeat a North Melbourne side who have had the wood over Richmond for several years. The Tigers will enter the bye with a 7-4 record and in fourth position, and had you offered that to Richmond supporters at the start of the season, they would have bitten your hand off.

7. West Coast (-1)

Ladder position: 7th

What is going on with the Eagles? West Coast have lost three games in a row, and were beaten by the Suns for the first time in their history on Saturday. There's problems with the Eagles playing away from Domain Stadium this season, and that looks to be a major roadblock in their quest for the flag.

8. St Kilda (-)

Ladder position: 11th

The Saints enjoyed a week off in round 11.

9. Fremantle (-)

Ladder position: 8th

It was a result Fremantle won't be satisfied with, especially given the fact Collingwood limped over the line with injuries to three crucial players. Poor skill errors and failure to take their chances late cost the Dockers, who have just hung on to their spot in the top eight.

10. Melbourne (-)

Ladder position: 9th

The Dees enjoyed a week off in round 11.

11. Essendon (-)

Ladder position: 12th

It was a gallant effort from the Bombers, who pushed the league-leaders for the entire four quarters at Spotless Stadium on Saturday. A 5-6 record leaves Essendon in the balance at the halfway mark of the season, with a critical clash against Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium next weekend.

12. North Melbourne (-)

Ladder position: 13th

There wasn't a lot to like about North Melbourne on Saturday night. They butchered the football and struggled to put the Tigers under any defensive pressure when they did have it, in what would have been one of their more disappointing performances of the season.

13. Collingwood (+2)

Ladder position: 10th

This was a massive win in the context of Collingwood's season. They lost Daniel Wells and Jamie Elliott in the second half and had Tyson Goldsack playing with one arm, but the Pies managed to hold on and win their third match in a row to see them now just four points out of the eight with a big Queen's Birthday clash against Melbourne to come on Monday.

14. Sydney (-1)

Ladder position: 16th

The Swans enjoyed a week off in round 11.

15. Hawthorn (-1)

Ladder position: 15th

Hawthorn were kept to their lowest ever first half score (0.3) on Thursday night by the Power, and were lucky enough to win the second half after Port Adelaide shut up shop. The Hawks have put in some strong displays this season, but when they lose, they like to lose big.

16. Gold Coast (+1)

Ladder position: 14th

It was also a big win for Gold Coast, as Peter Wright kicked his side ahead with under two minutes to play, to give the Suns a three-point win over West Coast. The result will take some pressure off coach Rodney Eade for the time being, with a big game against Hawthorn at the MCG this weekend.

The Blues enjoyed a week off in round 11.

18. Brisbane (-)
