The Western Bulldogs will challenge Matthew Kennedy's one-match ban for forceful front-on contact at the Tribunal.

Their veteran midfielder was cited for his hit on Sydney's Caiden Cleary in the second quarter of the Swans' victory on Friday night, and will have their case heard on Tuesday night.

Kennedy appeared to make contact with Cleary's head, and the 24-game Swan was rewarded with a shot on goal as a result of the bump. The hit was deemed careless conduct, high contact and medium impact - a combination that delineates a one-week suspension.

The club also communicated that they will challenge the fines handed to two emerging forwards.

Will Lewis was fined $1500 for staging, while father-son prospect Jordan Croft was fined $1500 for engaging in a melee/wrestle.

Both fines can be reduced to $1000 with an early plea, but the Bulldogs will be seeking to have both thrown out entirely.
