Northern Territory talent Taj Murray is a 198cm key position prospect who represented North Adelaide in 2025.

A developing tall, Murray represented a host of different teams in 2025, at one stage playing four games in nine days across AFL Academy, North Adelaide, school footy and Northern Territory duties, while he also represented the Allies.

It was in his first game for the Allies where he was particularly eye-catching, impressing not only with his ability to lead up and take marks, but also with his nimbleness and skill at ground level, kicking four goals in an 11-disposal display chock full of impressive moments.

His athleticism is particularly attractive, looking greatly dangerous when he launches for the footy and then having speed and agility, which, in big guys, is rare.

The confident marking provides a sense of optimism that he could even play in the backline, which he hasn't been greatly exposed to, and he also has the traits to suggest he would be dangerous hitting up at ball-carriers, while his ruck work is well exposed.

He's also clean at ground level and always brings great presence, which will continue to increase as he adds more strength to his mobile frame.

While his numbers across the teams he's represented are modest, as expected for rawer talls, his highlights package shows how bright the future could be for him.

Murray is a hard one to place in the grander scheme of the draft given he probably has as high an upside as most, but we know taller players are higher risk for clubs to draft. Expect someone to pounce at some stage in the second round.
