Western Australia's Koby LeCras has been on draft radars for the past few years, partly due to his last name and his relationship to his uncle and West Coast champion Mark. He had an impressive Under-16s carnival for WA and showed plenty of promise as a bottom-ager for West Perth, playing primarily as a marking option forward who could also impact on the wing and around stoppages.
A partial ACL tear brought a halt to LeCras' top-age season after he had made his debut for the Falcons' senior side. However, he did manage to put together two strong performances for the AFL National Academy team, highlighted by his 18-disposal, three-goal performance against Richmond's VFL team, which still boasted plenty of AFL-listed players.
In that game, LeCras worked up and down the wing well while also making himself an option up forward and delivering a memorable sidestep and finish from 50 in the fourth quarter to cap off an ultra-impressive performance.
LeCras' greatest asset is his positional versatility, his skills by hand and foot, marking and ground-level ability. His skill set and agility for his size mean he could play as a deep forward, on a wing, or somewhere in-between where he could prove to be a matchup nightmare.
Unfortunately, his untimely injury meant LeCras didn't really get the chance to put together a run of games to showcase where on the ground he will be best utilised at the next level. This will add an element of risk in clubs' eyes around drafting him, but it also means that he may loom as a huge bargain for a club in the middle stages of the draft.
Whether it is as a forward or as a wingman, there is no doubt the ceiling is very high for LeCras.

Key Quote
"Hailing from an elite basketball background, he is a high-impact player with plenty of upside. He started this season on fire, which included being amongst the Australia U18 team's best against Richmond's VFL side with 18 disposals, seven marks and three goals in April." - Kevin Sheehan
