Port Adelaide star Jason Horne-Francis will do everything in his power to reunite with great mate and St Kilda midfielder Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera at Alberton in 2028.

Wanganeen-Milera is set to become the hottest trade commodity throughout the year, with the Saints, Adelaide and the Power all vying for his services.

The former Pick 11 was heavily pursued by the two South Australian clubs throughout 2025 before he signed a record-breaking two-year, $4 million contract, locking him away until the end of 2027.

But now the contract talks are set to renew, with Port Adelaide strongly placed given the trade capital, financial capacity and close friends at the club including Horne-Francis, Jase Burgoyne and soon-to-be rookie-listed ex-Saint Isaac Keeler.

Keeler was delisted by St Kilda and is expected to be signed by Port Adelaide as a Category B Rookie following the AFL's decision to add another spot dedicated to First Nations players.

The utility was spotted training with Port Adelaide players last week, and has been in strong talks to continue his AFL career in the black and teal after 13 games and 11 goals.

“Not only because (Wanganeen-Milera) is a great footballer, he's one of our great mates, and we love being around him,” Horne-Francis said on the Dyl and Friends podcast.

“He brings so much energy to us, me and Jase, and I know he would bring a lot of energy to the group and they would love him as well.

“He's a tremendous footballer, and in his draft year I didn't think he was going to reach these heights; he was a skinny wingman, and he's taken his development to another level, and he's one of the best players in the comp, and if we could get him over the line it would be great.

“I think we might be getting Isaac over the line as well, so that would be good to help get Nas over there. I think the club is trying to play on that a bit, and we will see what happens there, but it's a good move. Isaac is a great fella, and hopefully he's going to get his second chance and go well, and we are excited to have him at the club too.”

The Power lost Zak Butters to the Western Bulldogs via free agency, yet the offers tabled to retain the gun on-baller would suggest the club would be able to meet any asking price from Wanganeen-Milera.

Port Adelaide also loaded up on the 2027 draft, welcoming two first-round selections from Melbourne and Richmond, whilst the Tigers also sent a second-round pick.

Despite Josh Carr and his list management team needing to work through multiple club-linked players next year, the Power are sitting strongly in terms of their draft hand, and have just under 12 months to bolster it to ensure a Wanganeen-Milera deal can be worked out.
