Adelaide is the latest club to potentially make a move for top-rated Western Australian draft prospect Dan Curtin via live trading on night one of the National Draft.

A selection for the versatile Claremont teenager could come within the opening three selections as North Melbourne weigh up their options at Picks 2 and 3, while Hawthorn (Pick 4), Melbourne (Pick 6), and Geelong (Pick 8) would also be keen on Curtin.

West Coast, who hold Pick 1, are also said to be interested in the local young gun, however will use their opening selection on Bendigo's Harley Reid - with their second selection to come on night two of the draft.

The Eagles could look to trade their future first-round selection and return to the top 10 of the order to attain Curtin's services, however West Coast won't be alone in setting their sights on the promising 197cm talent.

According to News Corp, Adelaide could be readying a move for Curtin on draft night that could see the South Australian club move up the order from their opening selection of Pick 10 in a trade for GWS' selection at seventh overall.

The Crows also have Picks 14 and 20 in the opening round, with any deal for the Giants' first selection likely to include Pick 10, unless Adelaide are open to parting with their 2024 first-round selection.

A trade between the Giants and Crows wouldn't come until the former is on the clock on Monday night, with Adelaide needing to wait and see if Curtin slides past the first six selections.

If so, a number of offers could come for Pick 7, with West Coast's 2024 first-round pick potentially the most enticing as it could be the first selection for next year's draft.

GWS could decide to hold onto the selection and draft Curtin, or another prospect, and leave the Crows to likely wait until Pick 10 to secure their first draft talent on the night.

Murray Bushrangers defender Connor O'Sullivan joins Curtin among this year's best key defender prospects and is likely to be in Adelaide's sights at Pick 10.

Like Curtin, O'Sullivan might have interest from Geelong at Pick 8, while Essendon - who hold the selection before Adelaide - are also a chance to look toward the key defender market.

The 2023 National Draft is set to commence on Monday night for the first-round of selections, with round two onwards to take place on Tuesday evening.
