In next month's AFL Draft, we can expect at least 54 selections from the 18 clubs, while 63 is tipped to be the maximum.
All sides are preparing to welcome a host of highly talented youngsters into their clubs, with Port Adelaide-tied prospect Dougie Cochrane and Carlton father-son Cody Walker headlining the incoming group.
Essendon currently holds Pick 1, and if they bid on Cochrane, which is expected, they will receive a compensatory second-round selection.
The same will happen for Richmond if they bid on Walker at Pick 2, which is likely to be pushed out due to the Cochrane bid.
The Power are expected to use the most selections in the 2026 intake, according to AFL Media, with as many as six.
In addition to the first selection of the 2026 draft and the expected second-round pick, the Bombers also have Picks 17 and 25.
Carlton, Collingwood, Melbourne, Richmond, Sydney and West Coast will also be major players in the draft, with four selections at most.
The Tigers have a pair of top-five selections after selling away a 2027 first-round pick to Port Adelaide.
Melbourne added to its draft hand by dealing away its 2027 top selection to the Power for their Pick 4 in the five-club mega trade.
Gold Coast, due to a previous trade for Christian Petracca and trading for Scott Pendlebury, will only have one pick, which is inside the top 10 (Pick 8) thanks to Ben King's free agency compensation.
The Western Bulldogs, Geelong, Hawthorn and North Melbourne all used their 2026 top selections for high-end acquisitions in the trade period, namely Zak Butters, Rowan Marshall, Zach Merrett and Nick Blakey.
Clubs have to use three picks at the draft, but that can also include upgraded rookies or re-drafted delisted players.
The AFL Draft will be held on November 19-20.
