Glenelg 18.7 (115) def. Adelaide 9.8 (62)

Despite dominating in hit-outs and clearances, Adelaide was unable to match the scoring pressure Glenelg brought to the table as they suffered a 53-point loss in the second round of the SANFL 2019 season.

Despite the loss, a number of players stood out during the match, specifically Cam Ellis-Yolmen, Hugh Greenwood and Lachlan Scholl.

Since his debut in 2014, Cam Ellis-Yolmen has played 29 career AFL games. He continued to push his case for a return to the senior side, proving that he is more than capable after finishing this week’s game with 36 disposals, nine clearances and seven tackles.

Hugh Greenwood is yet to play an AFL game this season but continues to inch towards senior selection, finishing with a strong 19 disposals in Adelaide’s loss against Glenelg. Draftee Lachlan Scholl was busy across the backline with 34 disposals and eight rebound-50s.

Adelaide looks to return to the winners' table as they play against Woodville-West Torrens in round three of the SANFL 2019 season.

Port Adelaide 8.10 (58) def. by South Adelaide 14.10 (94)

Despite finishing with more inside 50s, Port Adelaide was unable to execute the game they were after, falling to a 36-point loss to South Adelaide.

Jack Trengove produced yet another outstanding performance, backing up last weeks’ 44 disposals with another 42 this week, not to mention his 13 marks, 10 tackles and seven clearances. This consistency and dominance in the midfield could see Trengove land himself a spot in the senior side.

Sam Mayes and Matthew Broadbent also put on impressive performances, keeping themselves busy with 31 and 28 disposals respectively. Broadbent continues to impress off the back of a foot and ankle injury that saw him miss all of last year.

Hamish Hartlett, also on the comeback trail, missed out on the game this week as a result of hamstring tightness. The vice-captain played his first game last week after sustaining an ACL injury last year.

Port Adelaide players continue to strive for a spot in the senior side as their SANFL come up against North Adelaide this Sunday.
