Another round of AFL is in the books and our MVP votes have been awarded.

Four members from our team – Ben Cotton (Chief Editor), Mitch Keating (Deputy Editor), Ed Lemmo (Digital Producer) and Nick Splitter (Digital Manager) will vote 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 for the best players on the ground for every match of the season.

The Tigers blasted the Saints off the park in a well-rounded performance from the reigning premiers.

Shane Edwards (29 disposals, 98 AFL Fantasy, 127 SuperCoach) put in a reliable Shane Edwards performance, while Jack Riewoldt booted a game-high five goals on the night (109 AFL Fantasy, 94 SuperCoach).

West Coast 103 def. Collingwood 76

The Eagles proved to be too good for the Pies at Optus Stadium, and it proved to be a tough task fitting all their stars into our votes.

Jack Redden’s 37 disposals, 13 of which were contested, were simply huge (148 AFL Fantasy, 146 SuperCoach), Dom Sheed stepped up as he does against the Pies, booting three goals (103 AFL Fantasy, 104 SuperCoach) and Oscar Allen and Jack Darling kicked five goals themselves.

A tight tussle at the SCG ended in a big upset win for the Giants behind Josh Kelly’s 26 disposals and one goal (89 AFL Fantasy, 98 SuperCoach).

Buddy Franklin was back to his brilliant best, booting a game-high five goals (98 AFL Fantasy, 130 SuperCoach), making his unfortunate injury setback all the more untimely.

The Doggies ran riot on the Suns in what could well have been the best game of Josh Dunkley’s career.

The star midfielder racked up 38 disposals, 17 of which were contested, took six marks, laid eight tackles and booted two goals (151 AFL Fantasy, 148 SuperCoach).

Marcus Bontempelli (33 disposals, three goals, 133 AFL Fantasy, 133 SuperCoach) and Jack Macrae (34 disposals, 115 AFL Fantasy, 146 SuperCoach) were also dominant in the win.
