Giant Jacob Wehr has signed a new two-year deal, set to remain with the club until at least the end of 2025.

Wehr was drafted by the Giants with pick 59 in the 2020 AFL Draft, going on to make his debut in the senior side in Round 10, 2022 after spending the 2021 season at VFL level.

Last year's Rising Star recipient, the wingman has played two games so far this season but is now facing months on the sidelines after breaking his scapula in Round 2.

General Manager of Football at the Giants, Jason McCartney, said the club was looking forward to Wehr remaining a Giant for at least two more years.

“Jacob is a great story of someone who has come into the AFL system and continued to learn and grow and make the most of every opportunity,” McCartney said.

“He's an exceptional person who is committed to getting the best out of himself and that attitude will hold him in really good stead.

“He had a great pre-season and showed his toughness and the impact he can have over the opening few rounds so we're looking forward to welcoming him back into the side over the coming weeks.”

Wehr is expected to be available for selection in 6-8 weeks as he continues his recovery.
