Billy Gowers, 22, has committed to the Western Bulldogs, signing a two-year extension.

The exciting forward prospect was selected with pick nine in the AFL rookie draft in 2017, after spending two seasons on Carlton's rookie list.

Gowers was the leading goal scorer this year for the Bulldogs, kicking 26 goals in 20 games.

Gowers' talent was further showcased when the Bulldogs moved him into the midfield later on in the season, playing a multi-dimensional role within a team that often looked predictable and slow.

“I love being at the Club, so I was stoked to sign for another two years,” Gowers told westernbulldogs.com.au.

“To notch up as many games as I did in my first year at the Bulldogs has been awesome, and everyone at the club has been great to me.

“I’m really looking forward to the next phase of my career.”
