St Kilda key forward Max King has had another setback in his journey back to AFL footy, injuring his hamstring in the second quarter against Carlton's VFL side.
Speaking on the Six Points AFL podcast, Daniel Harford believes King was still a number for weeks away even without the new injury concerns.
“He wasn't moving around the ground or covering the ground very well at all, outside of his bubble, when the ball was in the bubble, he wasn't moving very much at all, so that was a bit of a concern for me," Harford said.
"I wouldn't have been playing him next week anyway if he got through from a St Kilda perspective, because he didn't move and cover the ground.
“He wasn't covering the ground very well at all, so he's a long way from the action in terms of the tank required to play AFL level, I reckon anyway, now we've seen that hamstring go, it's another stint on the sidelines for poor old Maxy.
“What do they do with him now, St Kilda?"
Mark Stevens believes it could be another wasted season for King.
"Well, it would be a three to four week injury for a normal person; it's a standard hamstring he was able to walk off, and pass the ball, so it shows the conservatism now that they've got that they are already saying six," Stevens said.
"He's going to have to come back through the VFL, and you said two games weren't enough this time, so he's going to need two or three, maybe four in the VFL, so that's ten weeks, and the seasons just about gone, but can you afford to put the queue in the rack again for King?
"He's on big money on a long deal, will he ever get back, that's the issue."
