The Footy Show has a long and proud history, however, it is no secret its viewership is beginning to dwindle.
Channel Seven's, Front Bar, which started as a short 15-minute show on the AFL website in 2015, has now grown to challenge the long running Footy Show.
The Front Bar, featuring Andy Maher, Mick Molloy and Sam Pang, moved from the AFL website to Channel Seven last year and was broadcast post-game on a Friday night.
Now, it is a stand alone show on a Thursday nights, with the program moving to 8.30pm for the first time last night.
Up against The Footy Show, The Front Bar narrowly edged out the Channel Nine program in the ratings battle.
The Front Bar averaged 172,000 viewers in Melbourne, with a peak audience of 235,000.
The Footy Show meanwhile, averaged 163,000 in Melbourne, with a peak audience of 216,000.
