The AFL have confirmed a five-person panel of judges to vote for the 2022 Norm Smith Medal.

Two-time Norm Smith Medal winner Andrew McLeod headlines the list, with the Crows great one of only four players to have won the honour on multiple occasions - joining Dustin Martin (three times), Luke Hodge and Gary Ayres.

McLeod has been named as chairperson of the panel.

Brisbane champion Jonathan Brown, Adelaide premiership player Abbey Holmes, Fremantle's all-time games record holder David Mundy and heralded journalist Michael Gleeson will also vote on the best performing players.

Each member of the panel will hand down 3,2,1 votes, with the player who earns the most votes claiming the Norm Smith Medal.

In the event of a tie, the tie is broken as follows:
- Number of three votes received
- Number of two votes received
- If still unbroken, votes cast by the Chairperson will break the tie.
