With Toby Greene's services all but secured ahead of Friday's free agency opening, Geelong's attention has turned to the trade period, with the Kardinia Park club linked to four other quality names ahead of Monday's start to the exchange window.
For the second time in as many years, St Kilda ruckman Rowan Marshall is said to be seeking a switch to Geelong, with the Cats and Saints again tipped to be at loggerheads over a trade deal that will see the big man exit Moorabbin.
The Cats have emerged as a keen suitor for wantaway Essendon defender Jordan Ridley, while Sydney star Nick Blakey has also been linked to the hoops.
While looking less of a chance for Hawthorn's Calsher Dear, Geelong has maintained interest in the fringe forward as a potential option to sharpen their spearhead.
With the Cats set for a busy off-season, the AFL Trade Show looked to rank Geelong's four trade targets by priority for Chris Scott's list build.
"Marshall is definitely on top of that list," the AFL Trade Show's Aidan Cellini said on this week's episode.
"Mitch Edwards has had a bit of a breakout season as a young ruck, but they've needed someone for the better part of a decade.
"So Rowan Marshall looming as a potential inclusion to the Cats is huge for them.
"Ridley and Blakey aren't necessarily the same player, but are defensive weapons that can bounce off half-back; they would be the next two.
"Then I'd have Calsher Dear. The emergence of Jay Polkinghorne makes it interesting. You've got Shannon Neale in his prime, Jeremy Cameron, while on the other side of 30, is still a handy contributor.
"So you've got your two leading forwards and Ollie Henry as well."
The Cats could be asked to hand over first-round picks for both Marshall and Ridley, while Blakey's value far exceeds any other Geelong target.
The situation likely means the Cats are unlikely to come away with all four targets, and may settle for half of that list plus Greene.
"There's been a lot of talk around Jordan Ridley's value," host Mitch Keating said.
"I think a future first-round pick (is fair). If tied to Geelong, it would be close to Pick 30 in next year's draft."
