September has officially arrived, and every team remaining will naturally have optimism.
Fremantle appears to be the clear front-runner for the flag; Brisbane's experience holds it in good stead, and Hawthorn and Geelong are among the challengers.
So what does every club need to focus on?
Adelaide
Midfield

This one is pretty simple. After finishing as minor premiers last year, the Crows were belted in both their finals at home - and it started with the midfield being unable to get their hands on the footy or rise to September pressure.
Izak Rankine has lifted at the right time and will be a welcome addition after missing September last year, but how much has that engine room improved?
And whether their style, particularly around stoppage, is sustainable for four quarters of high-intensity footy has also come under question.
The Crows have never won a final under Matthew Nicks, but they have the forward firepower to stretch opponents - but they need to give them enough looks.
