Bombers great Tim Watson has thrown his suggestion on where the 2020 AFL Grand Final should be held, per SEN Breakfast.

The AFL is set to announce who will host the AFL showpiece event sometime next week, with Western Australia, South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland all stating thier claims.

Watson suggests that Queensland should host the AFL's biggest day, opening the opportunity to get more Queenslanders to follow and play football.

"With the Queensland government behind it and the growth corridor for the sport, the saturation coverage we’re going to be able to give AFL football up there in Queensland (during Grand Final week), a poor non-performing Brisbane Broncos, the possibility the Lions go deep into finals – is it not just a no-brainer that we hold the Grand Final in Queensland and give the sport the most publicity we possibly can?"

“Before COVID-19, Queensland and New South Wales were being told they were the future of the growth of our sport.

“That’s why concessions and money have been poured into the states up there.

“Now the Queensland government is pouring the money in and is prepared to promote, of course the AFL needed to get some competitive tension going I understand all that, but in this dark cloud COVID time, this opportunity is a gift never before imagined that needs to be taken warmly and gratefully in both sanitized hands.”
