Hawks leader Alastair Clarkson may be a four-time premiership coach, but he has another hidden talent by all accounts.

Clarkson made a special musical tribute to 350-game superstar Shaun Burgoyne, to the tune of Ed Sheeran's 'Perfect', followed by a touching speech.

Clarkson and Burgoyne's connection dates back to their days at Port Adelaide when Clarko was an assistant coach under Mark Williams.

"We don't want to just think that you're Hawthorn because I know that Port Adelaide's a really big part of your life too," Clarkson said.

"But we're just so pleased that you were able to get over here on a little bit of an adventure that we said might be three or four years and is still going strong at nine years. And goodness knows how much longer."
