Former Bulldogs and Richmond coach Terry Wallace jumped on SEN on Thursday and shared his thoughts on how St Kilda, Gold Coast and Richmond will go this season.
In his calculations, Wallace factors in games he believes that team will definitely win or lose, along with the 50-50 affairs.
Following Ploughโs predictions, weโve decided to add our own in predictions in below them.
Who do you think is closer to the mark?
St Kilda
Terry Wallace: 8 wins
"I havenโt been really kind to them because they have a bit of work to do. They certainly have the potential to be ok. I have them on 12 losses and six 50/50 games, which has them around the seven or eight mark."
Zero Hanger: 9 wins
We found it very difficult to gauge a win and loss record for this season for the Saints due to their being a sense of unknown surrounding the club. Whether they can replace Nick Riewoldt and Leigh Montagna along with whether their middle tier players can step up will determine their season. We had them at 10 losses and seven 50/50 games, so we settled at nine wins and 13 losses.
Gold Coast
Terry Wallace: 4 wins
"Itโs going to be tough year because they have that run where they donโt have home games. Itโs going to be long year, which will make it even harder to keep Tom Lynch. I gave them two victories, three 50/50 games, and the others as losses."
Zero Hanger: 4 wins
Gold Coast will struggle this season, especially due to not having a home ground for the start of the season. We could only pencil in two definite wins and 16 definite losses, with five 50/50 matches. If we split the 50/50 wins a 4-5 win season awaits. They'll want to prove most critics wrong and win a few more games if they want to entice Tom Lynch to stick around past season 2018.
Richmond
Terry Wallace: 17 wins
"They have a pretty good run at the start of the season with a lot of home games and winnable games. By round eight, Iโve got them 7-1. It has been set up for the Tigers to have a decent crack at it. Iโve only got them at two guaranteed losses and five 50/50 games."
Zero Hanger: 16 wins
We too had Richmond starting the season with a red hot 7-1 start, but they do play tough fixtures in that stretch against Hawthorn and Melbourne. Richmondโs second half of the draw will be testing facing Port Adelaide, Geelong, Sydney, Adelaide and GWS in succession, with a bye in the middle of the Geelong and Sydney game. We had them winning 14 games and five 50/50 games, so we settled at 16 wins and six losses. Whether teams can combat Richmond's small forwards will go a long way in determining whether the Tigers can pull ahead of the competition or fall behind the opposition.
