Contracted Fremantle ruckman Sean Darcy is earning attention from rival clubs who are beginning to "ask the question" of his services.
Darcy is signed at Cockburn until the end of 2030, but has had questions raised over his future given the form of ruck partner Luke Jackson, who is also on a long-term deal with the Dockers.
The market for experienced ruckmen is anticipated to be busy in 2025, with Carlton's Tom De Koning and Essendon's Sam Draper among those potentially on the move.
Clubs who lose first-string ruckmen could turn their attention to Darcy, with rivals now asking if he is "gettable" for the right price.
The Bombers have been revealed as one club to "keep an eye on" regarding Darcy, with the potential exit of Sam Draper to Adelaide a chance of opening the door for Essendon to make their move for Fremantle's ruckman.
According to reporter Ryan Daniels, Darcy is "one to watch" as rivals increase their interest in the Victorian.
"Luke Jackson was again best on ground on the weekend," Daniels said on Triple M.
"He's going really well, and it leaves Sean Darcy as the odd man out. They said they only didn't play [Darcy] because it was a five-day break.
"Clubs are starting to ask the question already. So out there in clubland they're going 'Hey, is Sean Darcy available? Is he gettable?'
"I know for a fact there are clubs asking that question as recently as this weekend. Keep an eye on Essendon, because Sam Draper will likely go to Adelaide.
"[Essendon] need somebody, and I think they will ask the question. This isn't Sean going 'I want to leave', but I would say teams are starting to go 'Is he gettable?'
"I think Sean Darcy is a very good player when he's healthy. He hasn't been healthy in a while.
"Sean Darcy is one to watch."
Darcy has played 117 games for Fremantle and won the Doig Medal in 2021, with Jackson arriving at the end of the following season.
The 27-year-old has faced a number of injury setbacks in recent years, with a knee issue keeping him to seven games this year.
