The Lions sharpshooter has been linked to a return to his home state of Victoria at season's end as several rival sides look to bolster their key forward stocks.
Unsigned past this season, McStay is looming as the most in-demand tall attacking option in the player market, with offers close to $600,00 per season reportedly tabled.

The 26-year-old has hit career-best form this season, emerging as a formidable option in Chris Fagan's forward line in the absence of either Eric Hipwood or Joe Daniher.
Placed as the third-string key forward in the Lions' offensive structure, McStay could weigh up options elsewhere that would guarantee a greater focus on his abilities.
According to SEN's Sam Edmund, Collingwood could be a club to pry McStay out of Queensland as they look to sharpen the head of their spear.
The Magpies have long been without a star tall forward to lead their push for a premiership, having seen Brody Mihocek, Will Hoskin-Elliott, Jamie Elliott and Alex Fasolo win their past seven club goalkicking awards.
It's understood a "small group" of Melbourne clubs are showing some level of interest in McStay, who is seen to be comfortable with life in Brisbane.

Across 147 games for the Lions, McStay has booted 123 goals - 10 of which coming from eight appearances this season.
McStay will make his return from an ankle injury when the Lions host the GWS Giants at the Gabba on Saturday.
