Both Vic Metro and Vic Country have finalised their squads for the 2022 AFL National U18 Boys Championships, with the next generation of AFL stars headlining the two squads.

The National Championships will get underway this weekend, with both Vic Metro and Vic Country having to wait for their first matches until next week, facing the Allies and South Australia respectively.

Metro's squad will be led by Oakleigh Chargers senior coach Jason Devenport, who will have 10 of his own players available in his 30-player squad.

Among those are potential No.1 draft selection George Wardlaw, Essendon father-son prospect Alwyn Davey junior, exciting midfielder Elijah Tsitas and forward Blake Drury.

Also within the Metro squad is potential Brisbane father-son selection and highly-rated onballer Will Ashcroft, Calder Cannons jet Paul Pascu, Sandringham forward Harry Sheezel and bottom-ager Nick Watson.

Vic Country boast a similarly exciting squad, headlined by Geelong Falcons captain Jhye Clark.

The explosive midfielder will share the engine room with the likes of Murray Bushrangers star Oliver Hollands - brother of Suns youngster Elijah - as well as Dandenong Stingrays prospect Mitch Szybkowski.

Country will be coached by Geelong Falcons' Paul Corrigan, who will have four Falcons at his disposal.

Both sides are scheduled to clash in Melbourne in late September.
