Geelong have announced fresh deals for young gun Jhye Clark, premiership defender Zach Guthrie and Irishman Oisin Mullin in the wake of their Round 1 win over St Kilda.

Clark has inked a two-year extension that sees the teenager locked in at Kardinia Park until the end of 2026.

Guthrie and Mullin were also set to see their deals expire this year and have now signed one-year extensions that take them until the end of 2025.

"Zach has developed into a very reliable defender for us. We love the way Zach goes about it and he is an exceptional teammate," Cats football boss Andrew Mackie said in a club statement.

"Jhye has shown exciting progression with his development in the pre-season after getting a taste of AFL football last year. He is a very talented player, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.

"We acknowledge how courageous and brave the decision Oisin made to move to Australia, he has positively embedded himself into our football program and we are extremely happy with his development."

Saturday night's win was Clark's second game in the hoops, having made his debut against Richmond last year before battling a long-term foot issue.

The young onballer collected 13 disposals and two clearances in the win to start 2024 on the right foot.

Guthrie, a member of Geelong's 2022 premiership side, was eligible for free agency this year prior to his contract call.

The defender has played 78 games for Geelong since making his debut in 2017, featuring in 44 games over the past two seasons alone.

Mullin joined Geelong ahead of the 2023 season and played six games for the Cats in his first year after arriving from Ireland.

The speedy defender averaged 8.17 disposals per game in his maiden campaign, having come into two matches as the tactical sub.

The Cats still have a suite of players unsigned for 2025, including Patrick Dangerfield, Tyson Stengle, Mitch Duncan, Tom Hawkins, Jack Henry and Max Holmes, among others.
