Modra was a freakish footballer who inspired the state of South Australia with his natural ability.
The 188cm key forward booted 440 goals from 118 games for the Crows, earning two All-Australians and winning the Coleman Medal in 1997. However, in a heartbreaking twist, the favourite son of Adelaide missed both of the club's premiership wins.
Modra also kicked an incredible 129 goals in his second season in the AFL.
