The North Melbourne Kangaroos have confirmed Kane Lambert as their new head of development.
Lambert is a three-time premiership winner as a player, with the now 34-year-old ending his illustrious career with 135 games under his belt at the end of 2022.
The number 46 pick in the 2015 rookie draft, Lambert made his debut in Round 2 of the same season and went on to kick 78 goals as an AFL player, winning premiership rings in 2017, 2019 and 2020, while he also took out the Jack Titus Medal in 2018, and the Maurie Fleming Medal in 2017.
The former forward and midfielder has since worked in development roles at Richmond and the West Coast Eagles, but now maked the move to Arden Street where he will be responsible for the development of the entire football program including the playing and coaching group.
"We're thrilled to have another quality person like Kane join our program," North Melbourne's General Manager of Foobtall Todd Viney said of his arrival.
"As a player, Kane showed all the qualities of the type of athlete we are trying to develop at North Melbourne - hard-working, professional and team-first.
"In our conversations leading up to his appointment, his passion for helping people achieve their best came through loud and clear.
"He will complement the staff and players we already have at the club and he will help drive us forward."
Lambert starts his role ahead of the 2027 AFL season, with the Kangaroos desperate to climb the ladder after a poor season which saw the club wind up with just nine wins, finishing in 14th spot on the ladder.
