Richmond could be facing a tough list management challenge to land Tom Lynch at Punt Road if the 25-year-old chooses to join the club at the end of this season.

The Tigers have a number of players out of contract at the end of this season and they are already paying big bucks for Dustin Martin.

It’s expected it would take another big money deal to land Lynch so Richmond need to assess where that money will come from.

Sam Edmund from the Herald Sun thinks some of the Tigers' middle tier players may need to make way or take pay cuts for the club to secure a deal for the current Gold Coast Sun.

“What they do from here from a list management perspective will be absolutely fascinating,” he told SEN Breakfast on Wednesday.

“Watch this space at Punt Road. They’re in a bit of a holding phase, Blair Hartley the list manager is overseas.

“A number of their players around the fringes, inside and outside of the side, that are of a similar ilk, are out of contract.

“Corey Ellis can’t get a game, will they keep Shaun Grigg, Bachar Houli, Nathan Broad, Sam Lloyd, Reece Conca is also out, Connor Menadue, Shai Bolton. Does the salary cap squeeze these guys?

“If Tom Lynch actually does decide to come down and join Richmond, what does that mean for some of these guys?”

The SEN Breakfast team also asked Tigers skipper Trent Cotchin about what he thinks of Lynch possibly joining the club and he said Lynch is a great person but he doesn’t want to comment on the situation.
