In further contract news for Richmond, AFL Media have also reported that ruckman Ivan Soldo is nearing a one-year contract extension.

Like Baker, Soldo's current contract will expire at season's end, with his tenure at Tigerland set to be extended until the end of next year.

Soldo is currently sidelined due to an ACL injury sustained in September last year and is expected to return to full fitness in the latter half of this season.

The Tigers are set to face Hawthorn at the MCG on Sunday in hope of going 2-0 to start their premiership defence.
