Richmond have confirmed midfielder Shaun Grigg will miss at least the opening fortnight of the 2019 season, as he continues to battle a knee injury.

Grigg hasn't been able to train fully this pre-season, and will need time to up his training load to a respectable level.

Tigers General Manager - Football Neil Balme told the club's website Grigg just needs more time in order to get his body right.

“Shaun has been doing some good running sessions, but he just needs more time for his knee to improve, so that we can progress his training loads,” Balme told richmondfc.com.au.

“Given that he’s in a bit of a holding pattern with his training, at this stage we think it’s unlikely that he’ll be available to play in the next four weeks.”
