It's a topic that will dominate headlines for most of the season, but Richmond football boss Neil Balme isn't too concerned about Dustin Martin's contract.

Martin will become a free agent at the end of the season with multiple clubs set to offer the Tiger a new home, but Richmond believe their offer for the 25-year-old will be the best he receives all season.

"It's a terrific opportunity for a bloke like Dustin with free agency to make sure he gets the right deal," Balme told SEN.

"We've made him a terrific offer and he can take as long as he likes to consider it as far as we're concerned as long as he plays good footy in 2017.

"We've got every confidence that he'll be a Tiger long-term and I'm pretty sure he thinks the same way.

"We're not that concerned about it but unfortunately there's so much noise about it because it is a big story."
