The top-rated AFL team is here, and it's been selected by you.

Zero Hanger's AFL Player Rater rates the best AFL players head-to-head and shape the ultimate fan-powered AFL Player Ratings. Every vote helps determine who truly stands as the best player in the AFL by position - from defenders to forwards, midfielders and rucks.

Our system uses a proven Elo rating algorithm - the same system used in global sports rankings. All players start with the same rating, and each vote adjusts their score based on the strength of their opponent.

Beating a highly ranked player earns more points, while losing to a lower-ranked player results in a bigger drop. This creates a constantly evolving ranking system that rewards form, consistency, and performance - meaning the best AFL players rise to the top based on real fan opinion.

Bench

Adelaide skipper Jordan Dawson is the first to claim a spot on the bench as the 13th rated player in Zero Hanger's AFL Player Ratings. That number slides to six in the overall midfielders.

Bailey Smith follows closely behind in No.8, or 14th overall.

Miraculously, the injured Sam Darcy has maintained the rage as one of the best players, despite not gracing a football field for much of 2026. He ranks 15th overall, but 4th as a forward.

Brodie Grundy is the second-best ruck in the competition behind Gawn, while Kysaiah Pickett's spike in form amid a permanent midfield role has earned him a spot in the best 23.

Pickett is the ninth-rated midfielder in the competition, and sits 19th overall.

I/C: Jordan Dawson, Sam Darcy, Bailey Smith, Brodie Grundy, Kysaiah Pickett
