3. Tim Kelly (Geelong)
It was the deal that couldn't get done last year. The mature-age recruit had a stand out season, polling 13 Brownlow votes to finish one shy of skipper Joel Selwood and two-time Brownlow medalist Gary Ablett. Kelly requested a trade to the Eagles at the end of the season but the Cats were reluctant to give their emerging star away. Expect to see him in the royal blue and gold at the end of the season.
