Channel Nine’s The Footy Show has beaten Channel Seven’s The Front Bar for ratings for the second week in a row.

The Footy Show averaged 205,000 viewers across Melbourne while The Front Bar averaged just 153,000.

Hosted by Eddie McGuire and Sam Newman, the Channel Nine football program featured the record breaking possession getter, Tom Mitchell alongside Luke Davis-Uniacke from North Melbourne and Hunter Clark from St Kilda.

The Footy Show have also added colourful football characters Brendan Fevola and Dane Swan to their panel line-up.

The Front Bar, hosted by Andy Maher and comedians Sam Pang and Mick Molloy featured Hawthorn president Jeff Kennett as their special guest.

Last week The Footy show had a lead-in from the popular reality program Married at First Sight however this week their lead in came from RBT which they were still able to build on.

The Front Bar’s audience dropped from the 167,000 viewers from their lead in of Home and Away.

Next week The Front Bar will air a special episode on Tuesday night due to the commencement of the Commonwealth Games on Wednesday.
